Write an essay of at least 1500 words about one of the three topics discussed in class. Research your chosen topic and develop an informed opinion before taking a position. Argue your position using evidence you discover in your research. Your thesis, or claim, must be a policy statement (i.e., something should be done about something). Essays must be typed, double-spaced with 1″ margins on all sides, use 12-point, Times New Roman font. The essay must be formatted using APA style and include a cover page, page numbers, in-text citations, and a References page.

Body paragraphs will explain the details of both sides of an issue. Present evidence which supports your claim and refutes any counterclaims.
