Here you will discuss how the standard practices utilized in your community for management of your selected disease process is consistent and/or inconsistent with EITHER State OR National practices (CPGs). Note: Locating CPGs will likely be a more straight forward process than locating State level practice standards.

You have discussed State and National standard practices already in your paper. Refer back to those Sections as you develop this comparison.

If you do not work in a health care setting where you have the ability to observe the “standard practice” . . . you may have to conduct an informal inquiry of health care practices in your community that provide care to persons with your selected disease process to determine what “standard practice” for managing your selected disease process is in your community. Or you can engage with individuals in your community with your selected disease process for information about what standard care management practices they are receiving.
