Explore the evidence and rationales underpinning the knowledge and skills required for safe and effective nursing
practice

You should use a structured care planning process using APIEshould be included and reasons detailed as to why they are used along with any nursing interventions that are used.

Demonstrate an awareness of problem solving skills in order to accurately assess, plan, implement and evaluate
holistic nursing interventions

You should make reference to models of care and then demonstrate a care planning approach APIE reinforced
by the appropriate evidence

Demonstrate awareness of the role and responsibilities of nurses within the context of inter-professional care
delivery

You should use a structured care planning process around APIE including the role of the multidisciplinary team
specific to the chosen case.

Identify the necessary essential skills specifically required to provide safe and effective nursing care in relation to your chosen field of practice.

You need to be specific about FOP and include the evidence base that supports the nursing intervention(s) used in
order to demonstrate safety

In order to try to follow a logical structure within your assignment it would be helpful to follow a
structure built around APIE.

You must maintain confidentiality – patients / service users and clinical practice areas or Trusts should not be identifiable in your work. This must be in keeping with the NMC Code
