Philosophy and Human Good Ethical Dilemma
Q:
Cultural relativism notes there are no universal or shared principles. In
contrast, the universal theory deontology, focuses on duty. Within deontology,
how do we determine our specific duties in our culture or the world? Within this
particular theory, we carry out our duties out of goodwill, as opposed to
receiving a reward or fear of punishment. How are we able to know our particular
duties so that we can be successful in our role? Are these universal concepts or
are they relative to our culture? 100-150 words.
