Due to the shortage of nurses, their responsibilities are ever increasing, which may lead to actions that result in malpractice. However, nurses have not generally been involved in lawsuits for exceeding their scope of practice or violating their license, unless they also acted negligently (Fremgen, 2012).

• When should a nurse question the actions of a doctor?
