Introduction

The initiatives of the CCHI have resulted in significant improvements in the Saudi insurance sector. The harsh penalties levied against the firm are appropriate. Firms have had ample chance to comply with the requirements offered since the adoption of Compulsory Employment-Based Health Insurance in 2006 (Alkhamis et al., 2017). Saudi Arabia’s health insurance coverage are virtually endless, especially considering the country’s huge workforce, both domestically and internationally. Failure to obey the regulations established by government agencies for health insurance is plain carelessness on the side of the company.

Sanctions

Businesses in Saudi Arabia have been warned that failing to offer health insurance to all employees would result in sanctions. Companies that fail to comply will be subjected to harsh penalties, including the suspension of computer services as well as fines. Employers that fail to offer health insurance to Saudi and non-Saudi employees and their families will have their services terminated, according to a spokesman for the authorities. Furthermore, according to the Saudi Press Agency, such enterprises would be penalized the cost of any insurance. All private sector businesses must now provide health insurance to its Saudi and expat employees, as well as their dependents (spouse and minor children). All employees might be insured by the company. No insurance coverage will be provided or renewed until both Saudi and non-Saudi employees and their families are covered, according to the authorities (Alkhamis et al., 2017).

Violations

According to the spokespersons, the most serious breaches were failing to comply with the requirements for accepting the provision of health insurance.
Failure to meet the criteria for obtaining permission for a medical service, ineffective electronic systems, and a delay in settling financial claims to service providers
Submitting false insurance claims and breaches related to a delay in filing financial claims with insurance providers.
Engaging with non-CCHI-certified service providers, providing the council’s general secretariat with incorrect information, and neglecting to provide health insurance to Saudi workers and their families (Arab News, 2019).
