When it comes to both leadership and management, managers are usually apart of an organization while “leaders obtain power through influence gained by empowering others and directing followers who are willing” (Whiney, S. 2018). Anyone can become a leader if they have the proper work skills and is able to perform but in order for someone to become a manager, they would need a certain amount of education alone with clinical experience. The goals of both overlap during visionary and futuristic thinking of long-term events. An example would be a charge nurse informing their manager of staffing issues in order to receive proper coverage for the unit.Being so new to the field I would facilitate change first by being aware and understanding the current laws related to health care. I would want to make sure patients are safe and my staff is protected.
