Factors that influence the lives of older adults

Reference  as needed from any recent (5 years old or less) maternal/child nursing and gerontology textbooks and journal articles. No websites allowed. More than one reference is needed for each objective. Textbooks may be up to 10 years old.

1.      Discuss the complexity of factors that influence the lives of older adults in the following areas: health maintenance, environment, current health care financing, life style changes, end of life issues, bioethical issues in aging and community support systems.

2.     Select one pediatric chronic illness and describe the pathophysiology, signs and

symptoms, appropriate lab work, treatments, medications. Identify 2 nursing goals with appropriate evidence-based interventions.

3.     Describe the potential psychosocial effects of hospitalization on the child (choose one developmental age and discuss from that perspective); include cultural influences based on one chosen culture.
