Explain the different types of barriers our bodies have as part of our immune system.
SUMMARY/ABSTRACT
Physical barriers, which fundamentally forms the innate immune system, is one of the first mechanism that the body deploys against the invasion of foreign bodies. Whereas they are not constituents of the body’s response to pathogenic infections, they constantly work to protect against varied pathogens. Typically, the barrier defense mechanisms are correlated with the external body surfaces, led by the skin. Thus, the present paper will examine these external surfaces and the mechanisms that they utilize to provide the defenses.
