Purpose Statement

This proposed study aims to use the qualitative method research design to explore a solution to misinformation about medical health within the correction facilities. The study will use interviews to engage 300 participants from ten correction facilities in Los Angeles, California. Swire-Thompson, B., & Lazer, D. (2020)

Methodology

The research will use open-ended and closed-end questionnaires to collect qualitative data. This method will give an insight into the mindset of each individual by looking into the background of each inmate, and therefore developing an understanding of why each inmate thinks a certain way and how they retain information. The findings will help the researcher identify best practices to counter the misinformation problem and guide the medical staff in the correction facilities to give the best patient care to those who are incarcerated. All data that is collected will be done through interviews, observation, and self-reporting from subject to subject to get ensure accuracy. Wang, Y., McKee, M., Torbica, A., & Stuckler, D. (2019)

Research Questions/Hypotheses:

Question 1: How can medical staff prepare when educating inmates about general health?

Question 2: What are the critical factors?

Question 3: Are there any other options or resources that can be provided to advance the knowledge of inmates?

Question 4: What strategies can be conducted to achieve the best results?

This will be a case study design; as much as I would have preferred a mixed-method, she was not budging and said it would be like doing two different dissertations. X.X I swear it’s like being in 8th grade all over again.
