Instructions for Group Presentation
Each Group will investigate a particular topic that they will teach to the rest of the class.
Each Group will be expected to do the following:
1. Research and prepare coordinated presentation (20 minutes including set-up, presentation, class
engagement exercise and questions)
2. Meet as frequently as needed to assign roles and prepare for presentation
3. Produce high level project plan with tasks, owners, progress made, and due dates
4. Dress appropriately for formal business presentation
5. Utilize each group member in presentation
6. Use appropriate presentation media (Powerpoint, overheads, handouts, etc.)
7. Provide slide handouts for instructor and for class
8. Turn in bibliography, URLs, and one copy of all print resources used
9. Constructively evaluate members’ performance in group
Each member should:
1. Contribute to planning, research, preparation, presentation
2. Be prepared to answer questions on any part of the presentation
Presentation should include:
1. Introduction of topic, members, agenda
2. Definition of key concepts/considerations of implementing a health information technology system,
impact to workflow, steps in the implementation process, project management methodology, challenges,
etc.
3. Review popular vendors and their product offerings.
4. A view of the future for health information technology systems specific to your topic.
5. Engagement of class in further discussion (have prepared class exercise, do not just open up discussion for
questions)
6. Summary and distribution of bibliography to class

Evaluation for grade
1. Clear and accurate definitions of concepts

3. Organization of presentation

5. Professionalism of presentation
Evaluation for individual feedback
1. Group participation feedback
2. Presentation style/techniques
