health of your county and state population.
The most significant health behavior that negatively affects the population health in Pennsylvania and Delaware County include poor
diet and lack of physical activity. Obesity is linked to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality. The US Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) has approved four drugs for chronic weight management in adults when used in conjunction with a low–calorie
diet and increased physical activity. Clinically significant weight loss occurs as a result of these drugs, as well as improvements in
some cardiometabolic risk factors (Chao et al., 2020). Harmful substances, such as air pollution or proximity to toxic sites (the focus
of classic environmental epidemiology); access to various health–related resources (healthy or unhealthy foods, recreational resources,
medical care); and community design and the “built environment” are all important health–related factors in the physical environment
(e.g., land use mix, street connectivity, transportation systems). Physical exposures to the environment, such as air pollution, can harm
one’s health. A substantial body of research has been conducted to examine the effects of particulate matter (solid particles and liquid
droplets found in the air) on cardiovascular and respiratory mortality and morbidity (Physical Environment, n.d.).
2. Make one recommendation related to a health priority for your county based on the Healthy People 2030 objectives.
Based on the Healthy People 2030 objectives, it is imperative to emphasize to the population about the health promotion
measures. Members of the public have to be adequately trained and educated on the benefits of maintain healthy lifestyles. All
stakeholders from the healthcare practitioners, community service providers, state and federal governments should underscore on the
measures should emphasize on proper nutrition, regular physical activities, regular screening and medical check–ups, cessation of
smoking and substance and drug use (Ochiai et al., 2021). The nurse advocacy programs to target the youth and other vulnerable
groups to help them reduce dependence on hard drugs and other prescription drugs.
