Advanced Medical Surgical Nursing- Perioperative Nursing Case Scenario- Nursing Assignment Help

For this assignment you are required to do a case study on ONE of the following patient scenarios.

Patient 1: Ruby is a fifty (50) year old indigenous lady, who lives in a remote community inNorthern Australia. She has been seen in the clinic on her community by the visiting SurgicalTeam, who has found it necessary to bring her to hospital for debridement of a foot ulcer. Ruby is a smoker; otherwise she is fit and healthy.

Patient 2: Peter is a sixty (60) year old Caucasian male who lives in an urban environment. HisGeneral Practitioner has referred him to a General Surgeon for Excision of a Basil Cell Carcinoma(BCC – Skin Lesion) from his left forearm. Peter is a moderate drinker, and a little overweight, butotherwise fit and healthy.

Describe the patient’s pathway through their perioperative journey, linking this to the care anurse would give in EACH of the six perioperative roles.

Please Include:
• A brief introduction to the case study by introducing your patient and describing the condition being treated.
• Remember the focus of this assignment is the nursing care given for the particularpatient you have chosen, in each of the perioperative roles, and what the nursesactually do. The patient’s social circumstances and surgery are relevant where they have an impact on what the nurse needs to do for their care.
• Include legal and infection control measures relating to the nurses and the care they give.
• Your word limit should be divided approximately between each of the six (6) roles.
• A conclusion.

You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.

Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.

Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.

The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
