Physiological Psychology: Many Americans believe they are overweight, ranging from a few pounds to hundreds of pounds. As a result, weight loss systems are big business. For this assignment, you must choose a weight loss system and evaluate it in light of the physiology of ingestive behavior information covered in this module.
Find a weight-control website, brochure, popular article, or advertisement that proposes a mechanism for losing excess weight.
Document the key proposals in terms of the program’s main claims for success (e.g., restriction of fat and small portions).
Describe the reasons given for the program’s effectiveness (e.g., a full stomach reduces hunger).
Discuss the physiological aspects of the weight loss program. Clearly express an understanding of the physiology of the hunger, satiation, eating, and drinking processes as they apply to the weight loss method being described (e.g., long periods between meals would be likely to reduce blood sugar levels).
Based on the module information on eating and weight regulation, present a critique of the materials.
Evaluate the proposal and indicate whether you would try or recommend this weight loss system to others. Please explain why or why not.
