Analyzing the patients’ medical histories: The following critical elements should be addressed in your final project. Before submitting your final project, make sure it discusses all of the critical elements and answers all of the questions. Analyze the patients’ medical history
a) Did you summarize the patient history, explaining key demographics and family history that may be risk factors for common diseases?
b) Have you identified the previous diagnosis (or diagnoses, if there are more than one in the file) and explained how it was made? What tests, specifically, were performed?
c) Did you go over the symptoms listed in the patient’s file? Did you go into detail about why and how these symptoms prompted the doctors to order certain tests?
d) Did you include any alternative diagnoses (or diagnoses) that these symptoms could have pointed to? Did you use evidence-based resources to back up your claims?
e) Did you explain the pathophysiology of the diagnosis using supportive details from peer-reviewed resources? In other words, how does the disease manifest and progress in the body?
f) Have you identified the patient’s previous prescribed medications and explained the purposes of their larger pharmacological groupings?
g) Did you explain what symptoms the specific medications are intended to treat, using resources to back up your claims about the medication’s impact on the symptoms?
h) Have you shown how these medications affect the body and its functions? Did you provide examples to back up your claims?
Analysis of Recent Visits
a) Have you explained why the patient went back to the doctor’s office? Have you talked about the patient’s symptoms and signs?
b) Did you examine the new symptoms and signs to see if the previous diagnosis was still reasonable or if it was a misdiagnosis? Did you base your analysis on specific information from the most recent visit as well as the patient history?
