The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid have created a way for consumers to compare nursing homes based on their quality. They created “Nursing Home Compare,” which allows consumers to compare information about nursing homes. It contains quality of care and staffing information for all 15,000 plus Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing homes. Nursing homes aren’t included on Nursing Home Compare if they aren’t Medicare- or Medicaid-certified. These Nursing Homes can be licensed by the state.

Visit the Nursing Home Compare website (https://www.medicare.gov/nursinghomecompare/search.html). Enter a zip code where you would like to examine American nursing homes. Explore the nursing homes in that zip code, choose the one you would be most likely to send a loved one. Write a paragraph post with reference on why you chose that particular nursing home.
